2024 Fantasy Outlook
After being selected in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, Palmer was the No. 3 receiver for the Buccaneers. Palmer took on that role after Russell Gage suffered a season-ending injury in the preseason. Palmer didn’t have more than four catches in any game. In addition, the receiver only surpassed 22 yards once in his first 14 games. Palmer did show potential by averaging 44.8 yards over his last five games, which included two playoff games. It should be noted that Palmer often played in the slot, but new offensive coordinator Liam Coen said he expects Chris Godwin to see an increased slot role. Also, the Bucs added Jalen McMillan in the draft. It would seem that McMillan would have the edge for an outside role over Palmer when the team goes to three-receiver sets, If that happens, Palmer’s production and playing time could suffer. Gets new competition from draft
Palmer and rookie third-round pick Jalen McMillan are the top candidates for Tampa Bay's No. 3 receiver job, Joshua Queipo of PewterReport.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Palmer, a 2023 sixth-round pick, held the role for nearly all of his rookie season, though he was perhaps miscast in the slot. New offensive coordinator Liam Coen said he wants to put Chris Godwin back in the slot as his primary alignment, which means the team's No. 3 receiver this upcoming season likely will play a majority of his snaps outside. While that's perhaps good news for Palmer given his speed (4.33-second 40-yard dash time at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine) wheels, McMillan has decent speed in his own right (4.47-second 40-yard dash time) and is slightly taller and heavier (6-foot-1 and 197 pounds) than Palmer (six-foot, 192). There's also the matter of Palmer being a much later draft pick and then struggling with his opportunities as a rookie; he caught just 57.4 percent of his 68 targets and averaged 9.9 yards per catch.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
X-factor versus Detroit
Matt Bowen of ESPN.com believes that Palmer's vertical threat will bring game-changing plays for the Buccaneers in their NFC divisional-round game against the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Palmer firmly sits behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin as the WR3. However, Palmer has made big plays in his limited usage, including in Tampa Bay's wild-card win over the Eagles, when his lone catch on the night went for a 56-yard touchdown. With Evans and Godwin likely to get the bulk of attention from the Lions' secondary, Palmer could see more opportunities on home run plays from Baker Mayfield on Sunday. Palmer, a rookie sixth-round draft pick out of Nebraska, finished the regular season with 39 catches on 68 targets for 385 yards and three touchdowns across 17 games.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Palmer may only be a rookie sixth-round pick, but his 4.33 40-yard dash is the stuff of a higher-pedigreed player. He finished his college career at Nebraska last year after transferring from LSU and made the most of the move, totaling 71 catches, 1,043 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Palmer's speed is naturally unrivaled on the team, but how well it translates against pro defenses remains to be seen. For the moment, he seems almost certain to open the season as the No. 4 wideout, at best, behind the experienced trio of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Russell Gage.
