Losing streak hits four
Light HeavyweightOther
July 9, 2022
Roberson lost to Kennedy Nzechukwu via TKO (elbows) at 2:19 of Round 3 at UFC on ESPN 39 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Roberson was well on his way to losing a unanimous decision, so at least he was able to cut out a few minutes early. It was a shockingly poor effort from a guy who was almost certainly fighting for his job. Entering on a three-fight losing streak, Roberson gave up 5-of-7 takedown attempts to Nzechukwu and spent more than 10 minutes (10:46) being controlled in a bout which lasted just over 12 minutes. Roberson doesn't have a win dating back to November 2019 and is now sporting a 3-6 record in his past nine bouts. The end appears to be near, if not already here.

Losing streak hits three
Light HeavyweightOther
March 12, 2022
Roberson lost to Khalil Rountree via TKO (strikes) at 0:25 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was a win Roberson had to have and he didn't get it. In fact, he didn't come remotely close. You wouldn't know it by his performance, but Roberson entered as a -150 favorite here. While he wasn't exactly effective in the opening frame, it was miles better than the second for Roberson, at which time Rountree ran him out of the UFC Apex. Roberson had never been knocked out as a professional prior to this defeat, so that speaks to the fight-altering power Rountree possesses. They've all come against decent competition (Rountree, Brendan Allen, Marvin Vettori), but Roberson has now lost three in a row dating back to June 2020, with all three of the defeats coming via stoppage. There's a non-zero chance the 31-year-old New Jersey native could be handed his walking papers.

Won't fight Saturday
Light HeavyweightOther
September 22, 2021
Roberson (undisclosed) announced via Instagram that he won't be fighting Nick Maximov at UFC 266 due to medical issues.
ANALYSIS
In his message, Roberson mentioned the negative health effects stemming from his latest weight cut and it appears the issues were concerning enough to cause his name to be removed from the card. A replacement has yet to be announced, but Roberson will have to wait a little longer before returning to the Octagon, while Maximov remains set to make his first start with the promotion.
