FantasyDraft NHL: Thursday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

GOALIE

Philadelphia Flyers, PHI vs. CLM ($16,000): Yes, the Flyers are dealing with injuries in net, but the addition of Petr Mrazek in a trade gives them some options for the time being. Philadelphia is 7-1-2 in their last 10 games while Columbus is 3-6-1 in their last 10 contests. The Blue Jackets have also only averaged 2.55 goals per game, fourth worst in the NHL.

CENTER

Dylan Larkin, DET vs. BUF ($10,900): Larkin has had poor puck-luck, as the 21-year-old has a 6.0 shooting percentage. However, he's managed 35 assists in 59 games and has also put 27 shots on goal in his last eight contests. If he keeps that up, and gets some regression toward the mean, he should be able to light the lamp. Perhaps it will happen against a Sabres team that has a 3.28 team GAA.

Nico Hischier, NJD vs. MIN ($10,500): The first-overall pick has been showing why the Devils decided to give him that honor. He has a six-game point streak wherein he's tallied nine total points. The Wild have been truly awful on the road. They have a league-worst 3.57 team GAA in away games.

WING

James van Riemsdyk, TOR vs. NYI ($12,200): Van Riemsdyk has notched five goals in his last seven games, giving him 25 on the season. Don't be surprised if his hot shooting continues in this matchup. The Islanders have the NHL's worst team GAA (3.57) and have allowed a league-high 36.1 shots on net per game.

Max Pacioretty, MON vs. NYR ($11,700): Pacioretty has put 203 shots on net in 59 games, and the only thing really holding down his fantasy numbers is his 7.9 shooting percentage that is well below his career average. He should get the chance to put a few more pucks on goal in this one. The Rangers have allowed a whopping 36.5 shots on net per contest on the road. New York also has a league-worst 4.00 team GAA after the All-Star break.

Yanni Gourde, TAM at OTT ($11,400): Gourde has played some fine hockey recently, tallying 15 points in his last 14 games. The rookie is also now skating on Tampa's top line, which means playing alongside Steven Stamkos. He's also earned power-play time and has now notched 11 points with the extra man. Ottawa has a 3.43 team GAA, second worst in the NHL, and its penalty kill is ranked 29th.

DEFENSEMEN

Tyson Barrie, COL at EDM ($11,700): The Avalanche are banged up on defense, but luckily for them Barrie is still healthy. He's averaged 3:45 on the power play, and through 45 games he's tallied 18 points with the extra man. The Oilers have the worst penalty kill in the league, which bodes well for Barrie.

Rasmus Ristolainen, BUF at DET ($10,400): With Mrazek now in Philly, Jimmy Howard has to shoulder the load for the Red Wings. That's not a good thing for Detroit considering Howard has a 3.63 GAA and an .885 save percentage in his last nine games. Ristolainen has nine points in his last seven games, and overall he has 14 power-play points in 51 contests. The Wings have the 23rd-ranked penalty kill, which could benefit the big Finn.
