FanDuel NHL: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

We have in front of us a nice Friday slate is what with some exciting matchups on tap. The marquee game of the night features the Penguins taking on the Capitals in a rivalry that will never die as long as Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin are involved. With plenty of skaters at high price points poised to do damage, value will be important when build your FanDuel lineups. Consider some of these bargains…

Goalie

Connor Hellebuyck, WPG at VGK ($8,400): He's the fourth-highest priced goalie on this slate, but he's still a value at just $8,400. With a record of 8-0-2, save percentage of .936 and goals against average of 2.12, Hellebuyck has entrenched himself as the Jets' No. 1 goaltender moving forward. Expected to have plenty of offensive support, Hellebuyck sits as one of the safest goalies on the slate and one of the more likely candidates to pick up a win on Friday.

Center

Mathew Barzal, NYI at DAL ($4,400): With points in nine of his last 10 games, Barzal has locked himself into the second line center spot for the Islanders. He's looking more comfortable every shift with Jordan Eberle and Andrew Ladd, and also has been seeing time of late on the top power-play unit.

Bryan Little, WPG at VGK ($4,900): Little presents as a very nice value as a pivot off of Mark Scheifele who is entrenched on the top line. However, Little is drawing a good matchup against the Golden Knights, who are allowing the sixth-most points to opposing centers. His low salary makes it easier to stack him with one or both of his line mates Patrik Laine and Nikolaj Ehlers. The Jets are scoring in bunches of late with 13 goals in their last three games.

Wing

Boone Jenner, CBJ vs. CAR ($4,900): A regular member of this article, Jenner's price still hasn't moved despite a hot start to his season. His point-scoring streak came to an end in his last game, but he still has registered a goal or assist in four of his last five contests. The Blue Jackets play very well at home, and Jenner is a nice value skating on the second line with Oliver Bjorkstrand and Brandon Dubinsky as well as on the power play.

T.J. Oshie, WAS vs. PIT ($5,700): Oshie has owned the Penguins in his career, scoring seven goals and dishing out 10 assists in 19 games. He's still skating on the team's second line and top power-play unit and is in a good spot to produce tonight against a Penguins team allowing a lot of fantasy production to opposing forwards.

Evgenii Dadonov, FLA at BUF ($5,300): Dadonov still isseeing minutes on one of the better lines in hockey even though he's gone scoreless in his last three games. With Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau, Dadonov has seen at least 18 minutes of ice time in each of his last three contests and is in a good spot against a Sabres team allowing the seventh-most fantasy points to right wingers.

Defense

Jacob Trouba, WPG at VGK ($4,400): As he continues to produce, I'll continue to play him at this salary. Trouba has points in each of his last three games, all assists, averages more than two blocked shots per game and close to two shots on goal per contest. He's allows a ton of cap flexibility on a night where there are myriad options to pay up for.

Morgan Rielly, TOR vs. BOS ($4,800): The offensive ability of Rielly is what shows more often than not in Rielly's game. He averages 2.41 shots on goal per game and has 13 points on the season, two goals and 11 assists. He sees time on the top power-play unit where he has scored one of his goals and has points in back to back games. He's a nice bargain to have as part of the high scoring Maple Leafs.
