Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely avoiding arbitration
McLeod and the Oilers have reportedly reached a contract agreement to avoid arbitration, Ryan Rishaug of TSN reports.
ANALYSIS
McLeod's deal is expected to be in the neighborhood of two years with a $2 million cap hit. He posted a career-high 23 points with 78 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over 57 contests last season. While he's unlikely to be much more than a third-line center for the Oilers, he can occasionally produce at a high enough level to make an impact in fantasy.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
McLeod was a real bright spot for the Oilers last season, posting nine goals and 21 points in 71 games despite playing the entire year at age 22. McLeod's greatest asset is his speed. He can wreak havoc on the forecheck and that helps him create scoring chances, even when playing in a bottom-six role. It's going to be difficult for McLeod to carve out fantasy value on an Edmonton team which relies so heavily on its top-two lines, but he's an ideal depth player given his youth and skill set.
