Sticking with Rangers
DNew York Rangers  Minors
July 16, 2018
O'Gara accepted his qualifying offer from the Rangers for the 2018-19 season Sunday.
ANALYSIS
O'Gara was brought to New York as part of the Nick Holden trade with the Bruins last season. He would score just three points in 22 games to close out the 2018 season with the Rangers but was still able to keep steady playing time. Heading into next year, the 25-year-old blueliner should stay in a relatively unproductive, bottom-pair role.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2018
2017
O'Gara now has 33 NHL games under his belt, including 22 with the Rangers after they acquired him from the Bruins at last year's trade deadline. He'll compete for a spot on New York's blue line in camp, but the 25-year-old defenseman is fighting an uphill battle just to make the roster. Even if he sticks at the highest level, O'Gara's unlikely to carry much fantasy value given his meager career total of three points at the highest level.
O'Gara, who recorded four goals and 13 points in 59 games last season with AHL Providence is one of several young blueliners on the cusp of regular duty with the big club. The 24-year-old isn't the flashiest of the Bruins' back line prospects, but at 6-foot-4, 207 pounds the 2011 fifth-rounder brings size to the table, along with a solid all-around skill set.
