Yahoo DFS Basketball: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Sunday's NBA slate features four games beginning at 1 p.m. EDT. Read on to see which players are primed to turn in strong Game 4 performances and which are likely to struggle.

GUARD

Ty Lawson, WAS vs. TOR ($11): Lawson's had little trouble with the quick transition from the Chinese league to the NBA playoffs, racking up averages of 19.7 fantasy points in 24 minutes through two games with the Wizards. His shooting ability allows Lawson to play alongside starting point guard John Wall while also eating backup minutes at the position, and he comes with almost no risk attached at just $1 above the minimum. Those who haven't been following this series closely might not even know Lawson's an option, so take advantage of this deal while it's still flying under the radar.

DeMar DeRozan, TOR at WAS ($31):
DeRozan didn't need to do much in Game 1 with Toronto's team basketball approach working, but his Game 2 and 3 averages of 30.0 PPG and 41.3 fantasy points suggest he's also capable of filling the superstar role when necessary. Considering Washington's defense stifled Toronto's ball movement by forcing 18 turnovers Friday, DeRozan will need to take more upon himself if the Raptors are to take a 3-1 series lead back across the border with them. Fortunately for owners hoping to employ his services, DeRozan's $31 valuation hasn't priced in much of his upside.

Guard to Avoid:

Terry Rozier, BOS at MIL ($28): Terry wasn't all that scary in Game 3, failing to crack double digits in any statistical category while turning the ball over five times against a Bucks defense that looked much more engaged in front of its home crowd. Given Rozier's relative inexperience, similar road struggles could well be in store for Game 4.

FORWARD

Andre Iguodala, GS at SA ($12): Iguodala has done a fabulous job eating point guard minutes with Stephen Curry (knee) sidelined, and the veteran's versatile style translates beautifully to the fantasy realm. He's averaging 9.0 PPG, 6.0 RPG and 4.3 APG through three games, and there's little to suggest Iguodala's due to slow down in any of those categories considering his minutes have largely stayed consistent regardless of game flow.

LeBron James, CLE at IND ($58):
If you choose some of the cheap options suggested elsewhere in this column, you shouldn't have a problem carving out the cap space to bring in James. Given how lost Cleveland's offense has looked when LeBron isn't doing the scoring and creating, it's safe to assume he'll see his usual massive workload as the team looks to avoid a 3-1 deficit in this pivotal Game 4. With an average of 60.8 fantasy points in this series, LeBron is proving that his combination of skill and role is worth paying $58 for.

Forward to Avoid:

Kevin Durant, GS at SA ($50): Durant's ankle injury is minor by all accounts, but it's yet another reason to steer clear of him at this price. He's yet to reach 50.0 fantasy points in a game during this series, as he simply hasn't been needed to take over the offense for long stretches with the rest of Golden State's roster doing its part. Additionally, his opportunities are being limited by the methodical pace of San Antonio's offense, which requires a lot of time and ball movement to generate good looks given the talent disparity between these two teams.

CENTER

Marcin Gortat, WAS vs. TOR ($10): As has become commonplace the last few postseasons, a Wizards team that looked overmatched on the road has found its groove in Washington. Gortat's game embodied that turnaround, as he scored personal series highs of 16 points and 22.5 fantasy points in Game 3, with the latter total matching his season average. The Polish big man is likely to match that performance at home again in Game 4, making him an excellent value after his road struggles dropped his price to the minimum.

Myles Turner, IND vs. CLE ($18):
Turner's rim protection has served as an excellent deterrent against James' frequent drives to the basket, even though the young center has recorded only one block in this series after averaging 1.8 per game in the regular season. He still has plenty of room to grow in that category, but Turner's otherwise solid play has earned him 33:10 of playing time per game, well above his season average of 28:15. If he starts racking up the blocks again, don't be surprised if Turner's also able to exceed his season average of 28.0 fantasy points like he did in Game 1.

Center to Avoid:

Pau Gasol, SA vs. GS ($17): Against a Warriors lineup that's teeming with threats from deep, there's often nowhere to hide the lumbering Gasol on defense. For that reason, he's averaging less than 18 minutes of court time per game in this series and is yet to crack 20 in a game. That's just not enough time to build up much relevant fantasy value, especially with LaMarcus Aldridge nearly monopolizing inside touches on offense.
