FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

There are plenty of elite options to choose from on FanDuel for Monday with the Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans and Minnesota Timberwolves all in action. In order to get some of them into your lineup, you'll also need to find some cheaper value plays with upside as well. He are some players to consider across the price scale who could help you finish the night a winner:

Guards

Damian Lillard, POR at DEN ($9,300): Lillard continues to be an excellent DFS option, scoring at least 44 FanDuel points in five of his last six games. He played at least 35 minutes in five of those games, which gives him a high floor based on a 29.8% usage rate that ranks inside the top-15 in the league. The Nuggets struggle to defend opposing point guards, allowing the third-most FanDuel points per game (47.7) to the position. Lillard could be primed to provide significant value in this game.

Donovan Mitchell, UTA at ATL ($8,000): Mitchell has paced the Jazz's offense for much of the season and is playing particularly well lately, averaging 25.0 points and 2.4 three-pointers over his last seven games. That's good news when you also factor in that the Hawks allow the eighth-most points per game (107.8) in the league. With a 28.7% usage rate that ranks inside the top-20, Mitchell should produce plenty of offense again Monday.

Tony Snell, MIL vs. PHO ($4,300): The Bucks will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) on Monday, opening up more playing time for Snell. Giannis also missed Saturday's game against the Sixers, resulting in Snell playing 38 minutes and scoring 26.3 FanDuel points. The Suns play at the fourth-fastest pace (102.3 possessions per game) and allow the most points per game (112.2) in the league, leaving Snell as a viable option for your entry, even when you consider his limited offensive game.

Forwards

Josh Richardson, MIA at HOU ($6,300): The Heat have dealt with plenty of injuries this season, which has resulted in them leaning heavily on Richardson. He's generally risen to the occasion, scoring at least 32.9 FanDuel points in four straight games. While he's not a major offensive threat, he provides contributions across the board, averaging 14.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.2 blocks and 1.8 three-pointers in 10 games this month. The Rockets play at the eighth-fastest pace (101.4) in the league, so Richardson could have even more opportunities to provide value in this contest.

Wesley Johnson, LAC vs. MIN ($4,600): After averaging just 12 minutes per game with the Clippers last season, Johnson has taken on a more prominent role this year due to all of the Clippers' injuries. He's taken full advantage of the extra playing time, scoring at least 31.6 FanDuel points in two of his last three games. With opposing defenses forced to concentrate on stopping Lou Williams and Blake Griffin, Johnson has been able to hit at last three three-pointers in four of his last five contests. He won't cost much Monday and should continue to be a nice value play until Danilo Gallinari returns to action.

Kelly Olynyk, MIA at HOU ($4,500): Olynyk has fit in well with the Heat, averaging career-highs in points (10.8), rebounds (5.7), assists (2.2) and three-pointers (1.3) per game this season. Although starting center Hassan Whiteside is finally healthy, Olynyk has seen some extra playing time down the stretch when the Heat decide to go with a small lineup. Monday's opponent in the Rockets use a lot of small lineups, which could bode well for Olynyk's playing time. If you want to take a chance on a cheap power forward in tournament play, Olynyk is someone to consider.

Centers

Clint Capela, HOU vs. MIA ($7,700): Capela may not be flashy, but he's scored at least 30.2 FanDuel points in six of his last seven games. The Rockets don't have a lot of size up front, which leaves Capela as a double-double threat most nights, despite averaging only 26 minutes per game. The Rockets are going to need him to battle with Whiteside on Monday, so he could even see a few extra minutes if the Heat stick with Whiteside down the stretch. Either way, he presents a viable option at a reasonable price.

Rudy Gobert, UTA at ATL ($7,600): Gobert hasn't shown much rust after missing over a month with a knee injury, scoring at least 33.4 FanDuel points in both games since his return. Playing time doesn't look to be an issue moving forward as he logged at least 28 minutes in each contest. The Hawks allow the fourth-most FanDuel points per game (55.3) to opposing centers, so Gobert should have a high floor with the potential to out produce his price point.

Dewayne Dedmon, ATL vs. UTA ($5,400): Dedmon recently missed over a month with a leg injury and has come off the bench in all six games since he returned. He's still played close to the same amount of minutes as he was when he was starting, and he's scored at least 22.5 FanDuel points in five straight games. Facing Gobert is no easy task, but Dedmon might see a few extra minutes due the Hawks' lack of size and talent up front. If you are looking for a cheap center to take a chance on in tournament play, Dedmon is your best option.
