Weekly Hitter Rankings: Mile-High Snakes

This article is part of our Weekly Hitter Rankings series.

Weather is warming, which means even more home runs. We're at the point of the season where some splits can give is a better idea which teams are in better spots to rack up runs. Of course, the primary consideration is still the matchup for the specific hitter, but a favorable team contest doesn't hurt.

MLB HITTER RANKINGS
TEAM vLHP vRHP HOME AWAY HR LHB HR RHB Comment
Arizona Diamondbacks 0 6 3 3 113 117 Start week in Coors Field, could be big week for Jake Lamb, Gregor Blanco and David Peralta
Atlanta Braves 1 6 7 0 100 100 All seven at home, all Braves lefty swingers in play plus better righties
Baltimore Orioles 0 7 4 3 109 97 Seven games, but facing all right-handers including several above average
Boston Red Sox 1 5 3 3 78 94 Red Sox offense still inconsistent, surprisingly low 17th overall in runs per game
Chicago Cubs 2 5 3 4 87 94 Cubs really struggling versus RHP, sitting with 7th lowest wOBA in that scenario
Chicago White Sox 1 5 3 3 102 107 White Sox best team in the league versus LHP, but only draw one southpaw this week
Cincinnati Reds 0 6 0 6 91 92 Tough week for Reds RHB, begin in Trop (with DH) finish in Nationals Park
Cleveland Indians 2 5 3 4 113 106 Could be a big week for all Tribe hitters as they're facing several home-prone gas cans
Colorado Rockies 3

Cleveland Indians 2 5 3 4 113 106 Could be a big week for all Tribe hitters as they're facing several home-prone gas cans
Colorado Rockies 3 3 3 3 117 111 Rockies generally struggle on road versus southpaws, catching Ryu and Kershaw in Dodger Stadium
Detroit Tigers 3 4 0 7 95 103 Seven on road in pitcher's parks, including three in Petco without Victor Martinez
Houston Astros 1 6 0 7 93 90 On the road for seven, who cares? Astros leading the league, by far, in runs per game in road tilts
Kansas City Royals 4 2 6 0 80 81 Facing four lefties and have been quietly crushing southpaws the last month, sporting .373 wOBA and 15 K% in that span
Los Angeles Angels 2 4 0 6 111 116 On the road for an AL East swing, nice park upgrades but Angels offense not doing much
Los Angeles Dodgers 2 5 7 0 117 96 Home all week, featuring weekend series with a Rockies staff leading the league in road ERA
Miami Marlins 3 4 7 0 92 77 In South Beach all week, scheduled to face a couple of top arms and a couple more looking to regain form
Milwaukee Brewers 0 7 4 3 128 106 Seven on the road but not losing much in terms of lefty power, Eric Sogard should stay relevant another week
Minnesota Twins 2 4 3 3 100 106 Only six games, but Twins are tenth overall in runs per game for the last month
New York Mets 5 2 0 7 92 87 On the road for seven, but more importantly, facing 5 LHP, Wilmer Flores is in a great spot
New York Yankees 0 6 6 0 146 125 Only six games, but all at home versus RHP, including several weak arms, both starters and relievers
Oakland Athletics 2 5 4 3 94 92 Seven games, in power-suppressing venues, but still an upgrade over their home digs
Philadelphia Phillies 1 5 3 3 108 116 Tough set-up for offensively challenged lineup, facing an above average starter all six games
Pittsburgh Pirates 0 7 0 7 127 100 Away for seven, nice power upgrades, especially for LHB like John Jaso, Josh Bell, Gregory Polanco and Adam Frazier
San Diego Padres 2 4 3 3 78 111 Not much to see here, though Padres RHB in decent spot with 2 LHP and a couple lesser RHP
San Francisco Giants 1 6 3 4 82 89 Not bad for Giants LHB, begin week in Suntrust Park, then come home for three Mets RHP
Seattle Mariners 1 6 7 0 110 102 Home for seven seems nice, but Mariners are 7th worse team in the league at home vs. RHP
St. Louis Cardinals 0 6 3 3 103 104 Six games, all facing RHP. Not many LHB, but overall, Redbirds league average with righty on the hill
Tampa Bay Rays 1 5 6 0 99 85 Rays continue to bash RHP, should continue with several middling righties on the docket
Texas Rangers 1 6 4 3 123 111 Nice week for lefty swinging Rangers, heading to the Bronx for a three-game weekend set
Toronto Blue Jays 2 5 0 7 94 92 Seven games, but all on the road so overall park downgrades, but facing some weak arms
Washington Nationals 0 6 3 3 88 88 Nationals draw six right-handers, which is good considering they sport the 7th best wOBA vs. RHP
