FantasyDraft NHL: Tuesday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

It's a busy Tuesday with 11 games on the NHL schedule. That's a relief, because there was only one game Monday, which surely left hockey fans clamoring for some action. Take advantage by considering these players for your daily fantasy lineup…

GOALIE

Nashville Predators, NAS vs. COL ($15,800): Rinne got off to a somewhat slow start, but he has a 1.46 GAA and a .955 save percentage in his last two outings. Plus, lest we forget, Rinne almost carried the Predators to the Cup last season. The Avalanche, meanwhile, scored a paltry 2.01 goals per game last year, which was bottom of the league.

CENTER

Jack Eichel, BUF at VGK ($13,600): Eichel managed to score 57 points in 61 games last season, and he already has seven points in six contests this year. He's also notched at least 21 power-play points in his two NHL seasons. Malcolm Subban doesn't have much NHL experience, and struggled in his only two outings prior to his Vegas debut last week.

Nicklas Backstrom, WAS vs. TOR ($13,100): Backstrom is already off to a great start with 11 points in six games. He's one of the best players in the NHL and has also tallied at least 30 power-play points in his last four seasons. Toronto gave up 2.85 goals and 32.6 shots on average last season, and they've averaged 3.80 goals allowed per game so far this year.

WING

Viktor Arvidsson, NAS vs. COL ($12,800): Arvidsson burst onto the season last year when he scored 31 goals on 246 shots. If you were wondering if he might be a fluke, so far this season he already has three points and 22 shots on net in five games. Clearly, Arvidsson still has an affinity for putting pucks on goal. Colorado allowed 31.7 shots per game last season, but more importantly (from Arvidsson's perspective), they allowed a league-high 3.37 goals per tilt.

Phil Kessel, PIT at NYR ($12,000): Kessel has started 77.4 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, the most of any Penguin. He also has averaged 4:22 per game on the power play after putting up 30 PPP in 3:33 last year. Henrik Lundqvist is 35 now, and after posting a 2.74 GAA and a .910 save percentage last season, he has a 2.82 GAA and a .914 save percentage so far.

Mike Hoffman, OTT vs. VAN ($11,000): Hoffman got off to a slow start, but he has four points in his last two games. Overall, he's notched 22 shots on net in five contests after tallying 224 in 74 last season. He also had 26 power-play points last year. The Canucks averaged 2.94 goals allowed last season, and this year Jacob Markstrom has a 2.96 GAA and a .902 save percentage.

DEFENSEMEN

Zach Werenski, CLM at WPG ($11,300): Werenski put together a campaign last season that would have been Calder-worthy in a less competitive year. He had 47 points in 78 games as a 19-year-old, which is incredibly impressive. Less impressive is Winnipeg's defensive prowess (or lack thereof). The Jets allowed 3.11 goals per game last season, and this year that number is up to 3.60 (with 35.2 shots on net allowed per contest to boot).

Rasmus Ristolainen, BUF at VGK ($10,200): Ristolainen has averaged 26:40 of ice time and was a contributor across the board last year, notching 45 points (25 on the power play), 186 shots on net, and 161 blocked shots. His performance last year makes Ristolainen an enticing fantasy option, especially against the expansion Golden Knights and their rookie netminder.
