FanDuel NHL: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

The main contests at FanDuel begin at 7 p.m. EDT and consist of nine games. It's a large enough player pool to pluck out a few solid values while also spending up for elite talents. Here are a handful of recommendations to consider while assembling your daily lineups.

GOALIE

Carter Hutton, STL at CAR ($8,300): The No. 2 has risen to the occasion whenever called upon. He's won five of his last six starts and sports a .963 save percentage and 0.97 GAA since coach Mike Yeo took over in early February. The Hurricanes bring an admirable offense (fifth-ranked 11.97 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes over the last 25 games), but St. Louis is still looking to lock down third place in the Central Division. The price is right, too.

CENTER

Connor McDavid, EDM at VAN ($9,100): It's been a season-long offensive binge, but McDavid has picked it up a notch down the stretch and is a rare matchup-proof option. After all, he's totaled 12 goals, 25 assists, 79 shots and 11 multi-point outings in his last 25 games. Vancouver is also 6-16-3 since the trade deadline while allowing a healthy 11.5 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes.

Nathan MacKinnon, COL vs. DAL ($5,300): The Stars own the second-lowest team save percentage (.894) and have allowed the second-most goals per game (3.17) in the league, so this is a spot for MacKinnon to find statistical correction. Despite being deployed as the No. 1 offensive center in all situations, he's sporting an unsustainably low 6.5 shooting percentage this season.

WING

Zach Parise, MIN at ARI ($6,700): A promotion up the lineup has clicked for Parise. He's playing on the top line and No. 1 power-play unit and sports a three-game point streak (two goals and three helpers). The Coyotes have also allowed the most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (12.99) this season, which sets up nicely for Parise, and the Wild are still looking to build momentum entering the playoffs after a disastrous March.

Evander Kane, BUF at FLA ($5,600):
The Panthers have lost six consecutive games, allowing 28 goals during the span, as injuries have taken their toll. Kane enters with a reasonable salary and respectable floor. He's registered 35 shots through his past six games and boasts an impressive 1.28 goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five.

Sven Andrighetto, COL vs. DAL ($3,700):
Not only is Andrighetto a cheap stack option to pair with Nathan MacKinnon, the trade-deadline acquisition has collected five goals and 13 points through his past 15 games. The duo plays together in all situations and should carry a low ownership in the cushy matchup.

DEFENSE

Alex Pietrangelo, STL at CAR ($6,000): Locked into a high-end run, Pietrangelo has collected six goals, 17 points, 53 shots and 37 blocked shots while averaging 26:29 of ice time (2:56 on the power play) over his last 20 outings. The Hurricanes own the second-worst team save percentage at five-on-five (.912) and have allowed 14 goals during their active four-game losing streak.

Oscar Klefbom, EDM at VAN ($4,400):
The rearguard flashed his upside last time out with four assists, five shots and two blocked shots over 24:40 of ice time (5:00 on the power play). However, his cross-category profile also presents a nice floor. Klefbom's most frequent forward linemate is Connor McDavid, too, so the defenseman is a sneaky stack option with the star pivot and also helps mitigate McDavid's hefty salary.
