If he does in fact land a deal with Calgary, Nesterov will likely slot in as a bottom-four option without much offensive upside, so he won't be worth consideration in most fantasy formats.

Nesterov has spent the last three seasons overseas in Russia, racking up 60 points in 136 contests with CSKA Moscow. He was never a prolific scorer from the blue line during his previous NHL stint -- he had 17 points in 48 games split between the Lightning and the Canadiens in 2016-17. Now with the Flames, Nesterov will likely compete primarily with Oliver Kylington and Alex Petrovic for playing time on the third pairing. Without much of a physical element in his game, most fantasy managers will have little need to track Nesterov's production outside of the deepest of formats.
