12 team, 5 x 5 mixed, we keep 23 players with no contracts or term limits.

I'm heavy in keepers, especially at SP.

Would you trade Jordan Zimmerman and Nick Franklin for Kipnis?

My team if I make the trade, with 22 of 23 keepers in bold:

C-  Carlos Santana/ Salvador Perez
1B- Prince Fielder
2B- Jason Kipnis
3B- Evan Longoria
SS- Troy Tulowizki/ Chris Owings
MI- Jedd Gyorko
CI- Freddie Freeman
OF- Mike Trout
OF- Giancarlo Stanton/ Khris Davis
OF- Desmond Jennings/ Cameron Maybin
OF- Dexter Fowler/ Nate McLouth
U- Alejandro De Aza/ Kyle Parker
U- David Ortiz/ Joc Pederson

SP- Adam Wainwright
SP- Chris Sale
SP- Patrick Corbin
P- Matt Moore/ Dan Haren
P- Tony Cingrani/ Jake Odorizzi
P- Derek Holland/ Yordano Ventura
P-  Alex Wood/ Ivan Nova
RP- Greg Holland
RP-  Joe Nathan
RP-  Mark Melancon

Jordan Zimmerman is a great first half SP it seems, and Franklin could be good but I hate Mariners hitters... I like Kipnis a lot. Your infield is gonna be sick with Kipnis in it and your SPs are still great without Zimmerman. I'd do the trade, maybe you can get a really low prospect keeper as well for your 23rd keeper?

I offered the trade, but his demands for Kipnis are off the charts. He wanted Zimmerman, Cingrani, Franklin and De Aza for Kipnis and AJ Griffin.

Time to look elsewhere...

Wow ya time to look elsewhere. You can probably get Pedroia for cheaper than that.

I take the trade. Upgrade to the # 2 overall 2b that is young for a bunch of unproven or average guys.

Trade deadline passed last night. I opted to not trade for Kipnis, but I did trade Zimmerman and 3 guys I couldn't make room to keep (David Ortiz, Nate McLouth and Salvador Perez) for Eric Hosmer. I really like what I'm seeing from Hosmer, and at age 23, his upside is HUGE.

I plan to keep the guys in BOLD:

C-  Carlos Santana
1B- Prince Fielder
2B- Jedd Gyorko
3B- Evan Longoria
SS- Troy Tulowizki/ Chris Owings
MI- Nick Franklin
CI- Freddie Freeman
OF- Mike Trout
OF- Giancarlo Stanton/ Khris Davis
OF- Desmond Jennings/ Cameron Maybin
OF- Dexter Fowler/
U-   Eric Hosmer/ Kyle Parker
U-  Joc Pederson/ Alejandro De Aza

SP- Adam Wainwright
SP- Chris Sale
SP- Patrick Corbin
P- Matt Moore/ Alex Meyer
P- Ivan Nova/ Jake Odorizzi
P- Derek Holland/ Dillon Gee
P-  Yordano Ventura/ Nate Eovaldi
RP- Greg Holland
RP-  Alex Wood/ Joe Nathan
RP-  Tony Cingrani/ Mark Melancon

Not bad. I like Kipnis better but Hosmer is good to. Always take the stud over 3-4 avg guys in a keeper league.

I really like Jordan Zimmerman, but I do have some doubt about his ultimate K potential. He might be a guy that K's maybe 180 a couple times, but is more of a 150-165 guy most seasons. With my pitching as deep as it is, he was definitely expendable.

Hey Chris, any thoughts on Joc Pederson from a Dodgers fan? The numbers look quite good, .278, 22 HR, 81 R, 58 RBI, 31 SB, .381 OBP, .878 OPS. He K's a bit too much, but walks a good amount, too (114:70 in 439 AB.) Since he's only 21 years old at his first taste of AA, I think he's looking good.

He looks good but see no playing tome for him. Dodgers have 4 good outfielders for a while. I bey he will be moved at some point in a deal when the team needs something. I do like his power/speed combo though.

I think you are ok on the trade. I actually don't love Hosmer, I like him, just don't love. If it was just Zim and Franklin for Kipnis, with your SP depth, I would have probably done it. But if it was changed to all that other mumbo jumbo, you did the right thing and walked away. Hosmer is a line drive hitter so he isn't going to be a 30 hr guy consistently or anything like that. He reminds me of a Billy Butler type of hitter... high avg, 15-20 hr, 70-90 rbi. If you ever watch Hosmer take batting practice before a game, he just hits scud line drives all over the place. He's got some power, he just doesn't have the swing to crank them out all the time. I like Franklin's power-speed combo. He has trailed off here in the last 25 games but I think he will be pretty solid next year. As far as Pederson, like LABLUE said, it's really obvious that his ceiling is a bit low until he is traded. Too much money and talent at the MLB level for him to get called up and get regular AB's. As a prospect, he does look good.... i like to look at all prospects previous years too...see if they are consistently batting over 300 or if it's a flash in the pan... Pederson can hit. It's just a matter of when he gets his chance. Good Luck!

It would be great for me if Pederson got traded somewhere. Luckily, my team is stacked, so even if he doesn't reach the majors next season, it's no big deal.

I've got a team available. It came in 8th place of 16 teams. PM your info if you want an invitation to the league. I made a trade offer to this guy, and he said he was actually leaving the league, so he couldn't take the deal.
