Topic: Posey and Bumgarner for Tulo?Posted: 15 Dec 2012 at 9:35am |

In a 10 team dynasty league, and due to inflation of salaries i am going to have to drop some salary this year.
would it be fair to offer Posey and Bumgarner for Tulowitski? The other guy has no big name catcher and could use more pitching. I need a SS since Lowrie is what i got now. I wonder if he would even accept this deal? Or does the injury risk of Tulo make it not worth offering... Edited by astrosfanatic - 15 Dec 2012 at 9:37am |

Id take Tulo. He is a very top player when healthy. I like to find catchers in the draft every year. Even in dynasty leagues. Bumgarner is a good pitcher but not top ten.

i think i might start by offering Posey for Tulo, and if he doesn't accept that throw in Bumgarner. I am hoping that Tulo's injury last year scares him off a little.

I think Posey has yet to even reach his full potential.. tulo has proven he is the Darren McFadden of baseball. I wouldnt do it

Throwing out last season, Tulo had 89 homers, 292 rbi, 271 runs, 40 SB, and a .304 batting average over his past 3 seasons. A bit injury prone? Maybe, but he logged 1550 at bats over those 3 years. Imagine what kind of numbers he posts over 162 games, in his prime, at age 28. .310, 35-40 homers, 100+ runs and rbi? He is a monster. If you knock him for last season's injuries, do you also knock down Matt Kemp's value???
I do think Posey for Tulo is fair. However, I'd rather have the shortstop over the catcher if they are both healthy. |

That's what i'm looking at as well. Even if i only got 450 AB's of Tulo and 150 AB's of Lowrie, it would be more valuable to me than Posey.

I still take Tulo in a dynasty league. Only ten teams so you can always find pitching.

I am just talking about the overall trade with Bum and Posey in it. I like the Tulo side over them two.

Yeah, I'm hoping my league mates re a bit more involved once football is over. I'm heading to my football league's superbowl, but I still pay more attention to baseball than just about anybody (Present company excepted from that statement of course.)
