Diggs (kidney) is expected to play in Maryland's bowl game against Stanford, the Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Diggs is a highly talented player, but this matchup with Stanford is brutal. He'll be a high-risk fantasy consideration, and perhaps with merely modest reward potential. He does have major big-play potential, though.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

Diggs caught 34 passes for 587 yards (17.3 YPC) and three touchdowns in seven games last year before a broken leg ended his season. He's healthy now and ready to produce like he did as a freshman in 2012 when he totaled nine touchdowns in 11 games. Diggs (6-0, 195) is a dangerous open-field runner, but he might have to fight for targets this season in a Maryland offense that's deep at receiver. Still, senior quarterback C.J. Brown is smart enough to get him the ball often this season, and Diggs is a rare talent who should find his way to the end zone regularly, even if he has to do it as a runner or returner.
Despite playing on one of the nation's least talented offenses in 2012, Diggs wasted no time establishing himself as one of college football's elite receivers in his freshman year. Even with injuries forcing Maryland down to its fifth-string quarterback, Diggs somehow totaled 54 catches for 848 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games, numbers he supplemented with 114 yards on the ground, a passing touchdown and two kickoff return touchdowns. With his starting quarterback returning from injury and Maryland losing senior pass catchers Kevin Dorsey and Matt Furstenburg to graduation, Diggs should dominate again in 2013.
Diggs is Maryland's highest ranked incoming freshman since 2007, the there is little question on his abilities. The Terps have nothing to lose by playing Diggs early, making him a solid dynasty league selection. Unfortunately, his 2012 value will be in direct correlation with Maryland's quarterback play.
