Wilkerman Garcia

Garcia made his professional debut at just 17 years old, spending the 2015 season in rookie ball. He was lacking in the power department, as he didn't hit a home run in 37 games, but posted a respectable .281 average and got on base at a very impressive .396 clip. The switch-hitter possesses a good eye at the plate, walking 24 times, compared to just 19 strikeouts, and has plus speed on the bases. Garcia still has a while to go until he progresses to even the higher levels of the minors, so it is too early to worry about him potentially being blocked by Didi Gregorius or top prospect Jorge Mateo down the road. For the time being, Garcia should head back to rookie ball, with the potential to get a promotion to short-season Staten Island by the end of the year.
