ANALYSIS
The lefty has pitched exclusively at Triple-A Charlotte this season, supplying a 6.81 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 24:18 K:BB in 39.2 innings. Once a promising young arm in the Cleveland organization, the 28-year-old House's career has been derailed since he first experienced shoulder problems during in the 2015 campaign. He has pitched just 4.2 innings in the big leagues over the past two-plus seasons and hasn't posted inspiring numbers in the minors during that time either.

2013
House opened last season as the Indians' fifth starter after winning the job in spring training, but he had four ugly starts to open the season before landing on the DL with a shoulder injury. He was optioned to Triple-A Columbus after he got back to full health, where he made four forgettable starts for the Clippers before landing on the DL again with continued shoulder soreness. The injury kept him sidelined for the remainder of the season. House was able to log some innings in the Arizona Fall League so he should enter spring training at full health and be ready to compete for a spot at the back of the Cleveland rotation. He was serviceable for the Indians back in 2014 and his ability to induce groundballs could play well in front of an improved infield defense if he's given the chance to start again.
House quietly put together a big second half making him an interesting flier for 2015. He wasn’t consistently in the rotation, but he did put together a 2.53 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 4.6 K/BB ratio in 10 starts thanks to an elite slider and vast improvements to his changeup which was instrumental in his ability to finally tame righties with some regularity. The next step is improving his fastball command against right-handers as they tattooed the pitch all around the yard with a .958 OPS. He works 90-92 mph with it and can touch 94-95 at times, but it found way too many barrels last year as 17 of the 57 hits that righties had went for extra bases. The addition of Gavin Floyd in free agency puts House in a competition for a spot in the rotation this spring. For now, stick to rostering him deeper leagues while shallow mixed leaguers can stream him early on as we wait to see how much of 2014 was real.
House continues to make steady improvement as he moves up the minor league ranks, earning a promotion to Double-A Akron after starting the season at High-A Carolina. His numbers at Double-A will certainly need to improve and his stuff may not play well at higher levels. The minors are littered with guys like House so until he has more success at Akron and above, there is not much reason to get excited yet.
