Closer Watch
Dodgers - Kenley Jansen blew a save opportunity against the Cardinals on Friday after giving up a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning. He struck out three around the two-out blast from Lance Berkman, and the missed conversion Friday night is unlikely to cost Jansen the closer role. The Dodgers managed to rally with a run in the bottom of the inning to give Jansen a victory in relief for his efforts.
White Sox - Addison Reed picked up the save Friday while striking out one and giving a hit during a scoreless ninth inning against the Cubs. The save was his fourth of the season, and it appears to be Reed's job to lose now that Chris Sale has been moved back into the White Sox's rotation and Hector Santiago seems to be locked in as a seventh-inning setup man.
Marlins - Heath Bell converted his fourth save of the season (and first since May 1) with a scoreless ninth inning against the Indians. Although he did not allow a baserunner in Friday's appearance, Bell also failed to record a strikeout. Still, it appears as though he's clawed his way back into the role after a brief demotion led many fantasy owners to throw FAAB dollars at Steve Cishek and Edward Mujica in recent weeks.

Recommended Pickup
Welington Castillo, C, CHC - Useful second catchers are difficult to come by, and with news that Geovany Soto will miss the next three-to-four weeks, Castillo now has a regular job in Chicago. Castillo was carrying a .955 OPS over 16 games at Triple-A Iowa this season before he was summoned to back up Soto following an injury to Steven Clevenger. In a larger sample with Iowa last season, Castillo posted a .286/.351/.524 line including 15 homers in 227 at-bats. At least in the short term, he should provide value as manager Dale Svuem's primary backstop despite a 5-for-27 (.154) mark through seven games this season in Chicago.
Other Recent Recommendations: Yonder Alonso, Jarrod Dyson, Anthony Bass, Jordan Lyles and Kyle Seager.
